Features of some population characteristics of the marsh frog (Pelophylax ridibundus) (Ranidae, Amphibia) on the Right Bank of the Volga river in the Nizhni Novgorod region
In 2022 and 2023, some population characteristics of the marsh frog (Pelophylax ridibundus) were studied on the right bank of the Volga River, near the village of Somovka, Vorotynsk district, Nizhny Novgorod region. When comparing data for two different years, differences in the distribution of color phene frequencies were found, and in some cases they reached the interpopulation level. It was also noted that the main color of amphibians corresponded to the background of the environment, which changed during the periods of collection of study material. When analyzing morphometric parameters, a quantitative predo-minance of female sizes over males was found for almost all of them. According to the sex composition, this population has an approximately equal number of individuals of both sexes.
